I didn’t want a woman to be President, I wanted to be President, and I just happen to be a woman! And I don’t want to hear you compare your road to the White House to my road to the White House. I scratched and clawed through mud and barbed wire, and you just glided in on a dog slead wearing your pageant sash and Tina Fey glasses!
This is great, but they should have gone further.
I agree. They may have hit the nail on the head, but they didn’t nail it to the wall, nor did they nail it in the butt. It’s important to have your metaphors covered in this sense.
